Two years after the 37 Walkaround hit the drawing board, Strike has completed the tooling. The 37 features a 13-foot beam, 60-degree entry, 23-degree deadrise and a 33-inch draft. The soft, dry and stable ride makes this a highly competitive blue-water fishing vessel. The Strike 37 Walkaround already has exceeded the company’s high expectations. The 37 qualifies as an excellent hard-core fishing machine with the comforts of a family cruiser. It demonstrates the customary attention to detail and fishing knowledge behind every Strike design.
“We had three main goals when designing this model,” says Kenny Willmer, president of Strike Yachts, Inc. “First was to have a single-level walka round with no clumsy steps to fall up or down and plenty of width all the way around the cabin.
“Second we wanted enough gunwale height around the walkway so that people can feel comfortable while underway.” And the third goal was “to offer a spacious cabin with a stand-up head, shower, galley, sofa, TV and sleeping accommodations for up to five.”
Strike recently completed and delivered the first 37 Walkaround and has begun production on eight new orders. All Strikes are semicustom and sold factory direct, allowing customers to outfit the boat to meet their needs. Strike Yachts, Inc., is confident that its new 37 Walkaround is like no other on the market.

There are really only a few things in life that can actually satisfy an avid blue
water fisherman’s personal demand for excellence. Over the years and one hull at
a time, South Florida based Strike Yachts has managed to exceed that uncompromising
level of expectation coming straight from the world’s most discriminating anglers.
For nearly three decades, the name Strike Yachts has been synonymous with legendary
offshore fishing machines. Since the company’s inception back in 1977 by internationally
renowned Striker Yachts, the tight-knit group has custom-produced durable, diesel-powered
center consoles, cuddy cabins, and expressstyle sportfisherman; all perfect for
plying distant offshore waters in almost any sea conditions. As a matter of fact,
entire fleets of Strike Yachts are currently in operation around the globe, including
at the world renowned Crocodile Bay Lodge in Costa Rica.
The team at Strike Yachts knows all too well that for boaters in today’s market,
when it comes to selecting the perfect pocket sportfisherman, there are so many
choices in the 35 ft to 40 ft range that even the most educated buyers can easily
get confused with all the glitz and glamour thrown at them. Strike’s design team
also knows that there is one constant which remains the same across the board, and
that is, that any quality built, hardcore sport fishing boat which features sleek
lines and big boat character, one that screams "FISH ME HARD" like Strike’s all
new 37 Walk Around, will always capture the most discriminating boaters undivided
attention.
After more than two years on the drawing boards, this monster walk around sports
a wide 13-foot beam, 54-degree entry, 23-degree deadrise and 33-inch draft, which
means shallow water is now a reality instead of a hazard. What separates this 37
footer apart even further, is the boat is capable of flying across the surface at
a blistering top-end speed of just over 40 knots. If that’s not enough to prove
this platform is all about business, the 37s hull features multiple running strakes
coupled with uniquely designed propeller pockets which combine to offer a dry, comfortable
ride and an overall increase in handling and performance. With clean lines and the
same soft, stable ride that all Strike Yachts are famous for, the new 37 Walk Around
will undoubtedly take the blue water world by storm. As a matter of fact, the new
model has already exceeded the company’s high expectations. They know they’ve created
an economical tournament competitive pocket sportfisherman with all the creature
comforts of a weekend family cruiser. Strike’s new 37 Walk Around once again demonstrates
the company’s undeniable attention to detail and crystal clear understanding of
exactly what anglers want in a sport fishing vessel of this caliber.
“We had three main goals when designing this model,” says Kenny Willmer, president
of Strike Yachts, Inc. “First was to have a single level walk around with no clumsy
steps or obstructions to trip over while still providing ample width all the way
around the cabin so passengers could walk around in safety and comfort. Second,
we wanted ample gunwale height around the walkway so guests wandering up to the
bow could feel comfortable and secure while under way. The third goal was to provide
all of these desired features while still offering a spacious cabin with all the
make-sense amenities one could ask for, including stand-up head, shower, galley,
sofa, television and sleeping accommodations for five” added Willmer.
Step one foot on the 37, and you will quickly notice Strike’s design team has hit
the nail on the head. Multiple anglers can easily maneuver up, down, and around
the entire cabin without ever rubbing elbows. In the center of it all, the command
post situated on the bridge deck offers either single or double helm seating with
additional bench seating, tackle center, bait station and ice cooler to port. The
roomy cockpit is spacious enough for an entire crew and is well outfitted with a
large fish box and oversized in-transom livewell.
When it’s time to relax, the spacious cabin provides plenty of headroom, and is
nicely equipped with an air conditioning system, comfortable lounging areas, complete
galley with microwave and refrigerator, and oversized enclosed head with stand up
shower. Watertight porthole windows finish things off nicely with a classy larger
yacht feel. Although this boat is big, with its versatile capabilities and 360 degree
unobstructed view from the helm station, the Strike 37 Walk Around can be manned
single-handed or with a crew of only one. The boat is also manufactured with very
little “fluff ” so it’s as maintenance free as possible, though that doesn’t mean
that the Strike team won’t trick-out your 37 Walk Around with teak trim and many
other very cool options. Like all Strike Yachts, every 37 Walk Around is semi-custom
built and sold factory direct to allow the customer to outfit the boat to meet his
or her specific needs and wants.
Strike Yachts just completed delivery of their very first 37 Walk Around and the
manufacturing team is already in production with six new orders. The company claims
their best advocates are the legion of satisfied Strike owners who took the time
to buy the right boat the first time... which may explain why early model Strikes
are selling for more today than their original sticker price.
All in all, Strike’s 37 Walk Around is undeniably a serious sport fishing machine
with distinctive lines and unobstructed 360 degree fish-fighting ability, one that
just so happens to sleep five in a roomy cabin with more than six feet of headroom,
full galley, and optional entertainment system.
Buyers in the market for something just a bit smaller, will be thrilled to know
Strike Yachts will soon be unveiling their brand new 33 ft. Walk Around model. A
comparable “little sister” to the 37, the 33 will come standard with amenities not
often found on other walk around boats in this size class. Kenny tells us the 33
will feature overnight accommodations for two, galley, stand-up head and shower,
extra large fish boxes, transom livewell, and additional deck seating for up to
six passengers.
If you’re serious about upgrading, check out either model and remember, fishing
all day without a Strike...is plain ol’ boring!
